TCSD #1 Announces New Coaches

TCSD #1 announced today that a number of vacant coaching opportunities posted over the last few weeks have been filled. David Joyce has accepted the position of Jackson Hole High School Broncs Football coach for the 2017 season. Ed Anderson has taken on the role of head wrestling coach. Tracy Castagno has taken on the role of head dance team coach. There are still coaching vacancies for high school and middle school football as well as assistant wrestling and head cheer-leading.

Prior to accepting the position at JHHS, Coach Joyce was the head football coach at Mountain Home High School in Mountain Home, Arkansas where he coached a team in the 6A East conference, the second largest classification in Arkansas. During his five-year tenure, Coach Joyce rebuilt the Bomber football program from the ground up, finishing the season tied for third in the conference.

Ed Anderson has been a long time wrestling coach of high school students. Ed has coached at Bingham High School in Bingham, Utah and in Rigby, Idaho.

Tracy Castagno has been an assistant coach for the JHHS dance to for multiple years and this year is going to step in as the head coach.

Activities Director Mike Hansen is thrilled to have hired a number of highly qualified coaches. "We are excited to announce some of our new coaching hires as I think we have found some great individuals that will continue to provide positive learning experiences for our students through activities". Hansen went on to state, "We are still looking for some quality assistant coaches as well so please spread the word to anyone you know who would be a quality candidate".

Fall sports for JHHS will start on August 7th for Golf and Tennis and on August 14th for Football, Girls Swimming and Diving, and Cross Country. Dance and Cheer-leading will be hosting tryouts for the 2017-2018 teams in the coming weeks. Questions about coaching opportunities may be directed to Mike Hansen mhansen@tcsd.org.

Students must have documentation of a physical dated after May 1,2017, Activities Registration Form, and pay a $50 activity fee (scholarships available as needed, contact Mike Hansen) in order to be ready for fall practices.
