Jackson Hole High School will be the host site for this year's Wyoming Music Educators Association Southwest District Music Festival April 26 through 28, 2017.
This festival will feature performances by bands, orchestras and choirs in addition to solos and small ensembles. Along with Jackson Hole High School, this festival will include music groups from Big Piney, Cokeville, Evanston, Kemmerer, Lyman, Mountain View, Pinedale and Star Valley. Each group at the festival will be adjudicated and given a final rating based on several different categories such as Tone, Intonation, Rhythm, Interpretation, Balance/Blend and Technique as well as non-musical elements of the performance such as stage deportment, appropriate attire, etc.
Immediately following their performance, each band, orchestra and choir will also receive a short clinic from one of the adjudicators. Adjudicators for this year's festival will be music faculty members from University of Wyoming.
On Wednesday, April 26, the JHHS Orchestra will perform at 3:50 p.m. in the JHHS Auditorium, the JHHS Choir will perform at 4:40 p.m. in the JHHS Small Gymnasium, and the JHHS Band will perform at 6:45 p.m. in the JHHS Auditorium.
